By now I am sure you have seen some of the Dodge commercials with Ron Burgundy as the spokesman for the new Dodge Durango. Don’t get me wrong I am definitely a fan of Ron Burgundy the news anchorman and I am looking forward to the movie sequel coming out in December, but is Dodge doing us a disservice with these TV commercials? Is the car salesman image one again taking a hit being the butt of a joke that portrays the car salesman as anything less than professional?
I have talked to several car salespeople about these Ron Burgundy car salesman commercials and I have heard opinions that were all over the place. Even the Dodge salespeople that I have talked to have mixed thoughts. I am sure that Dodge’s only intent is to sell more cars or pull in more showroom traffic, but are they saying that car salesmen are a joke?
What are your thoughts?
Below are 2 videos of the Ron Burgundy car salesman commercials that are currently being shown on TV, there are more, but I haven’t seen these on TV yet (at least in my area).
